I had a strange feeling come over me a few days ago. I decided I wanted to build an instrument. This time however, I would start a little small, with the hope of actually finishing the piece. So rather than build a guitar, I’d start with a little brother, a ukulele. And since I’ve always coveted a Gibson explorer, I thought I would try to make a ukulele version of an explorer.
This is my opportunity to make a lot of mistakes with little consequence, so if this is something with which you have an interest, you’re likely to see me do a lot of things wrong. But where would we be if everything was perfect all the time?
The plan is as you see it in the image above. So far, I have tuners and a bunch of fret wire. More news as events warrant.
